Meetup: Hi-Desert @ Joshua Tree

Please join us for the 1st Annual Hi-Desert Meetup at the historic Joshua Tree Retreat Center 8. Note that we will be gathering at the Café (open 8 am – 3 pm), which serves healthy vegetarian food. Tables are available both inside and outside on the terrace.

Detailed direction to the Retreat Center and onsite Café can be found here: JT Retreat Center Map . Parking is free. For participants coming from outside the Hi-Desert Morongo Basin, please indicate in your RSVP if you are interested in car-pooling (riding or driving).

There will be a custom 5″x7″ meetup postcard for the event, featuring the Retreat Center and the icon of the Mojave Desert, Yucca brevifolia.

Activities will include a Postmark Posse meet & greet, postcard addressing, writing & stamping/signing, and a Freebie Table. Cohost Sarah of the Mojave Correspondence Club 6 will be present to meet fellow snail mail enthusiasts and share information about the club. If interest is expressed (& weather permits), a tour of the Retreat Center and/or hike in the area would be possible. Note that there is no post office open Saturday past 1 pm in the Morongo Basin.
